Description
The BORA BORA dive Resort is a small boutique hotel with 9 bungalows located on the main island of Bora Bora, 5 minutes from Vaitape, the main village of the island.
July and August are the busiest months in French Polynesia and you should reserve at least 2 months in advance to make sure that a room will be available.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in French Polynesia!
Location
The International Airport is located on the island of Tahiti. Connecting flights to Bora Bora are provided by Air Tahiti. When flying to Bora Bora make sure to sit in a window seat on the left side of the plane, because the aerial view of Bora Bora is truly breathtaking. There is a shuttle at the airstrip, which will bring you to the pier of Vaitape where one of our vehicles will be waiting for you. From the pier it is a 2 minute ride to TOPdive Resort.
Accommodation
Three bungalows are built over the water and the other six face the the lagoon or the exquisite garden. All are made in heavy wood, have a pandanus roof (a kind of local palm tree leaf) and have an outdoor terrace. Since we are a small resort, we can provide personalized service above and beyond any other resort.
Services in the room include air conditioning, fan, bath (over water bungalows only), separate shower, hair dryer, coffee/tea facilities, personal safe, Mini bar, Telephone, Television, additional bed (sofa bed), and outdoor terrace.
Dining & Entertainment
The BORA BORA Dive Resort restaurant has a very romantic atmosphere. You have a superb view on the lagoon of Bora Bora and you can watch the sea life from its terrace at night. The marble floor and its incredibly high ceiling resemble a cathedral. The warm color of the wood and the hospitality of the employees makes dining with us an unforgettable event.
We also offer an excellent choice of wines.
There is a central fresh water pool next to the restaurant facing the ocean and a sun deck for relaxing. We have a beautiful terrace on the lagoon, where you can have dinner at night. Our restaurant is known as one of the best tables on the island and we serve fine dishes of French and international cuisine.
Facilities
Services at the Resort include a swimming pool, Restaurant with terrace, Bar, Boutique, PADI Dive center (inside hotel), and a small conference room.
Activities
We provide a wide choice of activities with the best providers on the island.
There are many things to do while in Bora Bora. Assuming you don’t want to stay inside your hotel during the whole day, we suggest the following: First, decide whether you would like to explore the island from the air, land, or water. From the air you can take helicopter tours or parasail. On sunny days you have an amazing view of the lagoon with its variety of beatiful blue hues. The parasailing tour will show you the south part of the island and provide you with a view of the sister islands Raiatea and Tahaa.
There are also bus tours going around the island and stopping at various landmarks. More fun is the 4x4 safari excursion, as the jeeps can go on unpaved paths inside the island. You can also rent cars. My favorite one is the ’fun car’. It looks almost like a toy cabriolet, and is very cute.
The boat excursions inside the lagoon usually offer a trip around the main island. As the boats stay inside the lagoon, there are almost no waves, and you can enjoy superb sights of the Otemanu and Paia mountains. You will stop on a Motu (small island of the outer reef) where you can do some snorkeling, or just relax on the wild beach. Some tours are combined with a BBQ where they serve authentic Tahitian food. One of the famous dishes is the ’Poisson cru à la Tahitienne’ (Tahitian raw fish). Join a shark and sting ray feeding excursion for an adrenaline boost. If you like it faster, join a wave runner tour and enjoy the scenery at high speed. You can also explore the island on your own and rent a boat. These are small aluminum boats with a small outboard engine. You need no license to drive them. The Taravana catamaran will take you on a day cruise to the Tupai atoll, and for the romantic ones we have the sunset cruise inside our lagoon.
Diving
The most exciting excursions of course are the ones under the water. On the dry side you have a submarine with air conditioning and classical music, and on the wet side is real scuba diving (see below). It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or if you have already logged a couple hundred dives. French Polynesia is THE place for scuba diving. You can see many manta rays in Bora Bora, lemon sharks in Moorea, and hammerhead sharks in Rangiroa. It’s amazing how big the fish are here.
Our hotel can of course also accommodate non- divers. We are just a short walk from the main village of Vaitape. Bora Bora offers many different activities, and we can set up a whole program of different excursions while you are with us at the TOPdive Resort. And... if you want to try scuba diving, you know where to ask!
There is a dive center inside the hotel where you can sign up for regular dives or, if you are new to the scuba diving world, you can train to become PADI certified during your vacation.
